Google’s Android 15 QPR1 Beta has just given us an exciting preview of what’s to come with Android 16. The beta reveals a major redesign in the works for both notifications and quick settings, promising a more streamlined and user-friendly experience.
Here’s the scoop: the new notifications panel in Android 16 is set to be smaller and more compact, taking up less of your screen. If you need to see more details, you’ll be able to expand it with a two-finger swipe. This change is designed to help you manage notifications more efficiently without cluttering your display.
The quick settings panel is also getting a fresh look. The update will feature smaller, circular icons for common settings like flashlight and airplane mode. These new icons will replace the larger buttons we’re used to. You’ll even be able to rearrange these icons to suit your preferences. However, the top four settings might keep their larger, pill-shaped buttons.
The official launch of Android 16 is expected around October, following a few final tweaks to the current beta. This redesign aims to enhance your overall experience by making notifications and settings more intuitive and less overwhelming.
