Before You Begin

Before diving into the setup process, make sure you’ve got everything ready:

  • Update iOS: Ensure your iPhone is running on the latest iOS version.
  • Connectivity: Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
  • Bluetooth: Keep Bluetooth turned on your iPhone.
  • Proximity: Keep your iPhone and Apple Watch close to each other throughout the setup.

Step 1: Power On Your Apple Watch

  1. Put on your Apple Watch.
  2. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears, indicating it’s powering on.

Step 2: Pair Your Apple Watch with Your iPhone

  1. Hold your iPhone next to your Apple Watch.
  2. Your iPhone will prompt a message. Tap “Continue” to begin.
  3. If it’s your watch, select “Set Up for Myself”. If it’s for a family member, choose “Set Up for a Family Member” and follow the steps.
  4. Use your iPhone’s camera to scan the image on your Apple Watch screen. Align it within the frame. If you can’t use the camera, tap “Pair Apple Watch Manually” on your iPhone and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Wait for the confirmation message that your Apple Watch is paired.

Step 3: Set Up Your Apple Watch

  1. Once paired, tap “Set Up as New Apple Watch” on your iPhone.

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to set your preferences, like language, wrist preference, and more.
  4. Review and accept the terms and conditions to proceed.

Step 4: Complete the Setup

  1. Follow the prompts on both your iPhone and Apple Watch until the setup is complete.
  2. Your Apple Watch will sync with your iPhone. Keep your iPhone nearby until it’s finished.
